God put a burden in our hearts for the poor and fatherless in Latin America, specifically Costa Rica. God has used that burden to generate a powerful move of His Holy Spirit in Liberia, Costa Rica. In January (2014), Vital Seed Ministries, along with over thirty saints, conducted a city-wide mission involving a baseball camp, door to door bible distribution and prayer, daily Worship/Gospel services, and local church unification meetings. Through these activities, God reached over 50 children, planted bibles in nearly 600 homes, brought together 12 local churches, and converted over 50 people who professed belief in Jesus Christ and committed to love, obey and serve Him. God gave us much favor with the mayor’s office, the sports council, the local television station, and the city pastors.
Recently, from 28 Jun – 3 July, eight of us returned to Liberia to reconnect with the kids and the city in order to show our commitment, refresh the light of Christ in them, and continue to plan for an even larger mission event in January 2015. We played baseball and shared devotions with forty kids and their coaches. We fed them food with the financial support from the sports council. The mayor’s office even paid for our hotel rooms! The local television news station aired a news story on our mission, giving us plenty of air time to explicitly proclaim the name of Jesus Christ over the city. Our meeting with twelve local pastors yielded amazing results as each pastor was moved by God to commit their churches to participating in the upcoming mission.
Impacto Costa Rica (Liberia) is being used by God to transform that city. We believe God is energizing His local church here and there to immerse the city in His Love. We are prayerfully asking God to use Liberia as a launching point to expand His Kingdom into other parts of Costa Rica.
