Vital Seed has been assisting Child Legacy International (CLI) . with planning & budgeting input in order to help their ministry make best use of the land given them in Malawi and to help them develop excellent materials for their fund raising activities.
Vital Seed recognizes the need to have carefully developed plans including costs, master plans, building plans and images to achieve good success.
We have helped CLI by developing a master plan, graphics, cost break-downs and general planning advice.
We also have contributed $25,000 to help start the Vocational School which will provide Kingdom Business training and real-life skill sets to young adults and teens most of which have been orphaned through AIDs or wars.
The Health Clinic is an essential part of the master plan. It will comprise a staff house, dispensary, maternity unit and an under 5 child's clinic. It will also have (as described below) an covered area for cooking and camping out. For many locals this heath clinic will become a "God - send" as nothing like it currently exists. For those who will eventually make use of it, a walk of 2-3 days will not be an unusual commute.
The health clinic will provide walk in care for AIDs sufferers, and provide simple facilities for diagnosis and treatment. It also provides care for expectant mothers and gives them a real hope rather than facing the horror of abortion. Expectant mothers make the long journey to the clinic where they are given primitive, yet comfortable and safe areas to camp and cater for themselves until their respective due date. All the while pre-natal and post natal care is provided.
The fish farm is a simple yet very sustainable idea. It consists in a raised hen house to provide chicken eggs and (eventually) meat...........and chicken droppings! This vital by-product of the chickens helps to provide the needed nutrients to the water for farming fresh water catfish.
The water
is kept fresh with a top-up system from the planned solar water pump and the waste water is not actually wasted at all. This water in turn feeds the drainage ditches that run down hill to the fruit tree and vegetable fields.

We have developed a master plan that enables the whole site to be planned to ensure that each phase takes the completed picture into account . This is essential to properly plan and to show potential donors the ultimate plan.
The plan will be used to align the first phases on the project and to keep utility and road zones free from other areas of future development.
